Greece's Cycladic group of islands have higher winds in July and August named Meltemi..... they can be 5, 6 and 7 Beaufort but generally lessen after a week or 10 days. The winds are the result of high and low pressure systems to the northwest and northeast, respectively, of mainland Greece funneling the breeze south into the Aegean. Paros and Naxos (the island just east of Paros that I go to often) are *known* for their winds and for the world class kite and wind surfing they afford. :) See you in AUGUST!!!
