Thank goodness it's not an animal was so worried yesterday when I saw it. Looking forward to catching more elephants this morning whilst sitting in rain soaked Scotland.

Yes Chazy but it's not only that. The lump was always there but when the water flow started it became darker and more visible.

Now the light is dimming you can clearly see it's water, the Elephants always made their way to just in front of the web cam where the water is fed in but today they have moved to a different inlet by the looks of it, or as Adrian says it's a mound that has always been there, the light plays tricks sometimes with our eyes.

There are no dead bodies there. The behavior of the elephants proves that it is just a new source of fresh water.

I think there are two little baby elephants! .. and is that a type of mongoose in front of the webcam?

@Adrian and Cazy: I think this large lump is a pit containing the valve which controls the supply of water to the small pond. If this valve is leaking, the pit will be full of fresh water and the quantity of water reaching the pond will be minimized. That's why the elephants prefer to drink water from the pit.
