Been a long time since I've seen people on the balcony of Saint Mark's Basilica...

How times change - even Caffe Florians and Quadri's have sun shades

Caffè Florian has sun parasols. This is a historic first for St Mark’s square .
    They were always banned

After a terrible time and the sight of the Piazza being deserted for what seems like a very long time, it's really nice to see people back outside enjoying themselves.

Looks a bit scary having to do the flag lanyard perched on the top of a ladder. Ironic with the flag being EU and all the red tape around.

People have returned to the open air. Let’s hope this will be a permanent sight to give us all hope going forward against Covid-19 #Staysafe 04 May 2020

My favorite and much loved country so comforting to see the lock down on this special weekend , we so hope you are over
the worst now i so we can return from UK where it seems so many people still failing to see the import of your actions stay safe and show us how we can all get back to normality soon.

Such a sad time. But I am grateful for the webcams that continue to allow us to see what we can no longer experience in person. Venice is my favorite city in the world and I count the days until I can return to La Serenissima.

Two lonely pigeons are what remain of this once crowded, vibtant square. Heartbreaking!
