Hi Barry. Those numbers have been the same since May 8 last year. Do you really think there hasn't been a single new case in Tanzania since May last year?

    Hi Peter,
Somebody might be keeping a record of deaths, but the government says there is no covid in Tanzania, that it has been eliminated by prayer. Make your own conclusions about that. Various media reports I've read say there have been secret burials at night, and people are afraid to talk about covid for fear of government reprisals. It's hard to know what the situation is really like because the government won't release any information.

thank you "Vinno", as much i love to watch this cam, and the beach life, as much i am wondering since months what's going on there. you are right Tanzania just stopped counting..the Neighbor State Kenia with about 100000 infection and Tanzania with 500 infections tells everything. i hope one day under better circumstances we will be able to travel to this beautiful country.

Some people have commented on the apparent lack of covid here. Tanzania (the country Zanzibar is in) stopped reporting case numbers back in April 2020. So nobody knows how many covid cases there are (except maybe the government). Since the country has taken no precautions against the disease, I assume it is rampant throughout the country. I wouldn't go there.

Never been on this cam and couldn't believe the normality of 4 rows of tables with people having their meal on the beach! Must be a different planet I'm looking at!

The tide ebb and flow looks good on the 24 hour replay. Good thing high tide didn’t come during dinner time!
