On the morning of August 15th there is a traditional game for Marina: the "Palo a Mare". This game takes place off the marina and consists of arriving from one point to another of a pole mounted on a fishing boat, decorated with flags. The difficulty of the game is that the pole is greased with grease and oil, so the competitors fall into the water. The first who manages to get the flag put at the end of the pile wins a cash prize. In the afternoon, in Marina di Ragusa, as in Scoglitti, the statue of the Madonna with the baby Jesus is carried by the church, decorated with necklaces, crowns and four angels bearing candlesticks covered with flowers offered to the Madonna by the faithful. The statue of the Madonna is brought to the small harbor for the procession in the sea, followed by a festive multitude of boats. Then there is the procession through the streets of the village and finally the return to the church.
13aug18--The 15th of August, with a game called “legno a mare”, a long procession on the sea that includes many boats, theatre and music shows and the unmissable fireworks. EnJoy EnJoy
