Fri 1 Nov. Surely it won’t be long until the Christmas decks go up. Interesting info re Ghent v Bruges - we did not get time to visit Ghent when we were over there but would love to visit one day.
18 Dec for me another visit
I must amend my 5 days in Bruges. I arrived there early and spent the next day in Bruges. Then took the train to Antwerp the 3rd day and Brussels European District day 4. Then to Ghent day 5. However, walking the canals at night and having a wine listening to music-wonderful. I did not miss out on anything as it is all so close together.
Paul, personally I liked Ghent better. Less people and more of a vibrant atmosphere due to the university. Bruges is for romance and with me being solo, loved it and met many people but Ghent worked better for me. Lots of walking thru the Patersol in Ghent that is like walking the St Anna district in Bruges. Just a bit more to see and do there.
Hello, Deborah was there much difference in ghent as opposed to Brugge ? We have visited brugge 4 times in the last 2 years and we enjoy the culture and as you mentioned the friendly people!
Just got back from 1 month in Europe and spent 5 days in Bruges-it was wonderful. Everyone is so nice and friendly and I loved getting lost and finding my way out. I also stayed 2 days in Ghent and that was also wonderful.
Great Bruges marathon today then. Nice.
Oh on second look - they’re green bins ha ha. Must have gone to Specsavers! :)))
Sat 19 Oct. Well there are a fair few green porta-loos down there!
