Thank you Gormina for making it possible for the St George's Parish Church to come back on live cam. I was born in a street behind this church and there's a lot of reminiscing every time I see it. Besides there are a lot of Qormin (people who were born in Qormi) that now live abroad in Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and the United States and I'm sure they appreciate being able to see it.
Hallo Capture Sam ..... The clever head of this church trach is every year at the same date .... ???
23jun18--Victor Formosa, Thank You for the information of 5 days ago.
6/23/2018 07:23Holy cow the church bells are loud. I hope no one is trying to sleep in on a Saturday morning.
George, has it already happened?
Today there is a demonstration with the statue of St George on horseback killing the dragon. Accompanying will be the St George's Band.
19.06.18. St. George's Parish Church looks beautiful all lit up at night! ☺
Indeed, Victor, although they left it late, and the ref was blind! The festa was great fun. Will there be more to watch during the week?
You got your wish Liz. Good start
The church looks so pretty. Wish I could have seen the fireworks.
Ooh, how exciting! Thank you for that wonderful description, Victor. I have the gathering crowds outside on my iPad right now, as I watch England's first game of this World Cup! Wish us luck!
Today sees the start of a week long celebration of the feast of St George, the patron saint of Qormi. This evening after mass (which should be around 8.00pm) the statue of St George will b e carried out on to the parvis of the church in a joyful celebration with band marches, fireworks and an enthusiastic crowd which wkill pack the parvis and square in front of the church. It is a local 'festa' tradition and should not be missed. Enjoy
What is going on at the front of the church please. Men on cherry pickers first thing today.
Wish there there was a live cam at San Bastian church Hal Qormi so I can watch the funeral of a family member today at 2 30 pm
