Hi Mick, if you press the sponsor firm "Glacier Lagoon" icon on the right side of the image, you can see images about the amphibious tour.

Daiwai, thanks for that. I did see the other day loading up with people putting on life jackets. Thought we would be able to see it enter the water, but as you say it reversed and went out of sight. Looks rather cold doesn’t it.

Mick - if you are referring the the amphibious bus it just loaded up with tourists and reversed out of the frame. That would be the 10.30am GMT tour

Good evening Hanna, ( I live on the outskirts of London so it’s 7.30pm here). Your knowledge of the area is very good. I know a photographer, but his speciality is cars, he has his own studio and also travels searching out locations. I have noticed the vehicle in this shot but have never seen it move, I hope I’m wrong I’d love to see it laden with people. I don’t usually feel the cold as like you provided I’m well wrapped up then I can get by, but are you able to snap away when your fingers are so cold? I’m sorry to read about your intended visit, but I’m sure when the time is right you will take the chance. Will you travel alone? Or will you have company.you sound like me, when I’m off on a trip I love to get organized. There only appears to be 1 car left in the car park. Hope the occupants haven’t got lost. Have a lovely evening where ever you are. Mick

    Hello Mick,
I hope you are doing well.
The live cam of Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is one of my favorites, the site is a wealth of photographic material, Jökulsárlón has been a setting for 4 Hollywood movies. It is my dream place!
My initial plan was to visit Iceland this summer for a week or so, rent a 4X4 ( A must for the F type roads) and drive to this exotic Glacier Lagoon, a 5 - 6 hours drive on the (Ring Road) from Reykjavik.
To be ready for the trip I made a full Study/Research as to what to do and what not to do, where to go, what to visit etc... as to make the best of the 7 days trip.
Unfortunately and because of the Pandemic, the trip was canceled at least for this year.
As you said one sitting comfortably at home with his Laptop is something, and being in harsh extremely cold weather is something else, I believe that Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is worth it.
To me as a photographer, I do not mind how low the temperature is as one can wear extra layers with Rain/Wind coat, etc...I care for beautiful skies and super clear Horizon.
    Thank you
    Hanna Astephan.

Hi Caroline, thanks for that. I assume when you used to watch the tourists going down the water they were in/on the water vehicle I can see at the moment (11:00 up time)

I use to watch the official webcams from Iceland but they seem to be too problematic. This area (but from a different angle). You could see the 'icebergs' moving down the coast (& occasionally tourists).

Hanna, thought I’d add a short note, you seem to be writing all on your own. Doesn’t it look cold here. The coldest I’ve felt was when I was in Budapest, on a river boat in November. Couldn’t wait to get off and have a hot chocolate, much the same here. Have a lovely evening.
