Glorious day for fishing, cold, crisp, but dry and sunny.

Good decision Richard Adkins. Strong winds as sign boards are swinging till horizontal. Would be dreadful fishing and keeping up rods on the rest. Better after the storm. Tight lines ;)

Shame there isn't a windsock in view to judge wind conditions. We were going to fish the pier today but the Met Office has forecast high winds so we have postponed. However judging by the webcam view, it doesn't look to bad at the moment..waves could be deceiving though. Did we make the right decision ? will have to look again in a couple of hours time !

Sorry about the poor quality, we will be getting up on the roof as soon as it dries up a bit, as at present the area is too slippery ! Mark

I have been watching Liar on tv and it was nice to see the view facing the pier, ie where the webcam is,and now gives me a better perspective of Deal, such a lovely area.

Hi 'ifour', The cabin runs mainly for ice creams, not sure about their produce through the winter, but a very nice couple manage the business.
    Regards, Mark.

Work to spruce up one of a Kent town's most treasured landmarks has been announced ...“It is anticipated that work should commence during the spring of 2018. “An initial survey has identified that some concrete repairs are required in the shorter term. The council are seeking specialist advice and prices to enable these repairs to be made before the onset of winter.” "Although at an early stage, this should include new seating, new lighting, a new pier surface and repairs to the concrete structure.

Watched a large group of folks having their photo taken yesterday morning, in front of the pier, for what looked like a beach clean team! Good on ya!

I suspect Deal is about to get some 'interest' seeing as its pier is now featuring in the new ITV drama Liar (started in the UK 11th Sept). Which, might also explain, the refurbishment comment made a few weeks ago. The cafe, for a short time, was done up to look like a posh bistro/restaurant. It's only thanks to Skyline I recognised it :)
