I didn't mind the walk on the wall but I wouldn't want to do the jet skiing.
The local bus service is good too Paul if you're not hiring a car.
We stayed in Lindos and used it to go to Rhodes town a couple of times.

hi. jus had 7 wonderfull days here at electra - lalysos, excellent all facilities exceeded our expectations, very clean, great food, 10 min lovely stroll to main road, turn left 500 mts ahead is lovely fresh fruit shop and a massive supermarket, wow youll be v suprised how low prices, we bought nivea 50 sun lotion on offer at 9euro compared to 26 in market. anyway from electra book the gold bus that leaves every 1.5 hrs from hotel and returns to rhodes old town. when u get off bus walk to habour and on right there is a small tourist road train that was 7euros and tours all old town and sites for 45 mins, well worth. where the train stops, inside under archway is wonderfull small selection of local shops and cafes , can eat well for around 7-9 euros, we even found a pound shop selling all things that outside were 2euro. was a yellow boat trip that had a underwater 2nd floor but didnt try as was 1 hour . stayaed mid aug 17 was daily around 30 degrees, lovely, watch out for the sun, it burnt me bad quickly even though plenty of creams applied. was a village fair on in nearby kremasti 2 km away was brilliant. can get great jet ski hire 300 mts on beach left of electra rather than go out miles. wonderfull holiday. thank you electra palace. beautiful venue and almost every private home has fresh lemon lime or pommegranit trees. u wont be dissappointed. book now,.

Hi Paul, can recommend a visit to Rhodes town, great to walk the wall too.
Watch out for the taxis and mopeds when you're crossing the road - especially on zebra crossings!

Just come back yesterday. Absolutely perfect weather, clear blue skies & totally cloudless. Water temp like bathwater, night time temp in the 80's (F) and day time 90's (F). Greek people so friendly and laid-back, hope to visit again in September. (Tip: Take the hydrofoil to Turkey from Rhodes town and visit Marmaris on the Turkish Riviera & resort, their bazar is absolutely massive).

Seems more calmer today and a little less of a breeze. Still nice blue sky and sunny weather though. Everyone out doing their bizz. and looking so peaceful, who'd-a thought there was an earthquake just a few miles away only recently.

Katherine, I am being very careful with my posts and my "feeling the heat" comment was meant to be a light hearted dig at myself for causing an issue in the first place. So it was foresight rather than naivety.

Rhodes

Rhodes is a Greek island located in the southeastern Aegean. It is the third most populated Greek island after Crete and Evia. Rhodes, the island of Knights, offers to its visitors a journey into the past, party till the morning, cosmopolitan resorts and beautiful isolated beaches. As you can imagine, Rhodes is a place of contrasts. Located at the crossroads of two major sea lanes of the Mediterranean, the Aegean Sea and the coast of the Middle East. One of the main attractions of the island is the medieval city, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is the largest and best preserved fortified city in Europe with many monuments of Hellenistic, Byzantine, Medieval and Ottoman times. Moreover, the springs of Kallithea, the antiquities of Ialyssos and the Acropolis of Lindos, reveal only a small part of the rich heritage of the island. Near the city of Rhodes is the green valley of the Butterflies, a magnificent area that is filled with streams of running water and countless butterflies that offer an unforgettable spectacle.

On the shores of an Aegean island full of butterflies, on a sparkling beach with clear waters: there lies the Electra Palace Rhodes, bright and colorful, a modern resort with clean lines, made for you to have the best summer holidays of your life. Start your day with a hearty breakfast in the Grand, our main restaurant. Enjoy the magnificent views of the Aegean and spend your day at the beach or by the big central pool. There are also outdoor yoga classes and spa and massage treatments, for you to completely relax while on vacation. The children are well taken care of at the kids’ club, playing fun games and learning new things. There are three restaurants, two serving ethic cuisine.and there are also three bars.

There are kids’ and teenagers’ clubs with animators and special kids’ menus and tons of fun activities for the young ones. The five star services and amenities will surprise you!
