Thank you, I also just checked the time lapse on the Hanoy cam, and just caught one quick flash of green, of course it goes so quickly, but also great to see.

Just checked the Hanmoy-Lofoten Islands webcam time-lapse for 01-01-2021, and the northern lights appeared again, around 1:30 into the video (see the little numbers at bottom left of the time-lapse video). Very pale green - could be confused with clouds that are moving around the sky, but the clouds are just grey.

Valerie: If they were pale green swirls, sheets and curtains, then it was the northern lights. I saw them fleetingly on the time-lapse of the Hamnoy-Lofoten Islands webcam a few days ago.

No, it was't the blobs, I have seen those too, it was actual swirls of green in the sky. I took screen shots, but obviously can't put them on here, more is the pity. But I am happy to know what the blobs are too, I did wonder. Thank you.

The photos from Ist December don't show the northern lights. The green blobs are water droplets on the camera lens reflecting some nearby greenish light. Sorry to burst your bubble.

After numerous visits of this very pretty place day and night its very pretty during the day it looks like there is a restaurant people looking out onto the water.
I have not been lucky seeing the lights until I used the 24hour button I saw them in the sky and then at the left hand corner reflected in the water I enjoyed it tremendously.

@anne brum go on time lapse if you want to see northern lights; looks like they were showing on the 19 November unless it was something reflecting on the camera lense!
