Thank you to the host of this SkylineWebcam " Erupcion Hostel " . Baños de Agua Santa - Ecuador is a lovely beautiful city. I chanced upon the parade of 30 Sept 2017 while taking a short coffee break and ended up spending the rest of my afternoon watching , most enjoyable! Though I missed the very beginning the parade started with dancers from different schools / businesses / city areas with the dancers in colourful traditional costumes. A vehicle preceded each dance group playing their music plus passing out Melcocha ( famous sugar cane toffee/taffy ) to the spectators. The children and adults loved it. Following the dance groups were the Chagras ( Ecuador's Andean cowboys ) on their horses dressed in their traditional clothing. Ending the parade were pairs of cows pulling skids of sugar cane. In one of my screen captures is a character wearing a Parrot costume ( bottom - left of center ) but this person danced and moved so fast I just barely captured him. Banos is known for its colourful carved balsa wood parrots. I saw only one parade band but missed getting a screen capture. :-( Monday 2 Oct. I noticed azali had uploaded a parade picture so I added several too it so that Gwynn H and others could EnJoy EnJoy.
I missed the parade!
What a happy bunch, lovely parade and so colourful too.
Hi Gwynn if you're watching right now you'll be enjoying the parade which is taking place. Great to see all this from our homes.Snow here can start in October but doesn't stay too long then maybe near the end of November we could get some. We rarely have a white Christmas in fact it can be mild but I do wish for the snow to fall on Christmas Eve for the children - then perhaps go on Boxing Day! January and particularly February which can be a harsh month. How about where you live in the winter time?Steady rain will be good in Texas I imagine.
We have amazingly had 4 solid days of rain - not a heavy downpour, just fairly steady. And the rain has brought kinder temperatures with it. :) I think fall is here! Will you get snow? In street view of this cam, you can see more of the mountains as the backdrop.
Hi Gwynn, I was aware of you, Janey, and Gert all being a few hours behind and most likely asleep whenI was sight-seeing and waving at webcams in Malta. What's your weather like now? After only a week away it was suddenly autumn with a vengeance as the garden was covered in lots of leaves.Take care
Wish I had seen you waving, Audrey! However my time probably did not match your time. :) I went to Google streetview and walked all around the block around this park. A very pretty little town and beautiful mountains in the background!
Just come on here after our Malta holiday to 'discover' this new webcam - wonderful thank you.
... busy street corner!
