Hello Mick, it's raining on Easter Island right now, and a lot of wind, so, there seems to be no sunset! 15:06 pm now there.Yes ... people go on vacation there, they say it's very cute, my brother was there a couple of years ago and he told me.The good thing is where you live you have many places nearby, to walk and visit.Chile, is very long and narrow, so at least here in the north there is extensive desert and the great distances to move, are several hours, and between Arica and Antofagasta where I live, there are 10 hours traveling by land. seems quite true? .to your faithful friend labrador, would like to run in beaches of Arica and to splash, in the water?, then welcome when you want !! I could even be your hostess.Have a good night Miick.
Hi Patti, beautiful sunset on Easter Island, do people visit there for holidays do you know. Chile is a very big country if you live some 700 km south of Arica. Here where I live near London it only takes me 5 hours drive to reach southern England such as St. Ives and about 6/7 hours drive to reach Scotland. My Labrador is 4 years old and walk him every morning. He would love to visit Arica and run along the shoreline jumping in and out of the sea. Again this morning Arica seems cold like St. Ives. The weather here doesn't seem to have made the birds fly away they are still quite noisy.
Mick, I wrote you down here and the message did not arrive, so I'll write you again, answering your question. I do not know exactly what these tables are for there, so I might think that they probably sell some kind of handicrafts or souvenirs, or some kind of tasting. But if I know that the camera is put there to enjoy their, beautiful sunsets . You can see them this afternoon, they have less than two hours insular Chile.Beautiful landscape now I have seen a horse.Easter Island is very far from Chile. 3,700 kms.I am living in a city called Antofagasta, south of Arica, for six years.700 km., 434 M. that I think.Cute puppy you have, they are cute .. and I see you live very close to London. Also cute place.
Good evening Patti, You say Arica is your home town, where are you living now? Is Easter Island very far from Arica and do you know what the tables are for in the Easter Island camera view? I have a golden lab and live in Hornchurch which is approx. 15 miles East of Central London. Great sounds and always seems to be ships in view.
Mick, how cute you say, and you got dogs? and you went with your computer to listen to the sounds of the sea, and the seagulls? ... I'll soon be in Arica between November and December, that's my hometown, and I always want to be there, it's a quiet city too, you can breathe its pure air, sea air, and a radiant sun, and in the mornings something misty from the humidity, but it has much to offer as far as tourism is concerned, pity that this camera also only shows a bit of coast, only that, but the Hotel has very good location and I find its original architecture.Where do you live, I imagine with places with a lot of green?
No, but I am now (04:20) your time (08:20) my time. I've just returned from a dog walk to off to shower and I'll take laptop with me so as to hear the lovely soothing sounds of the sea and the occasional bird song from Arica. I could sit and listen to the glorious Arica all morning.
are you on line now?
It's light now 2.48pm your time and it's lovely to be able to see the waves rolling in. and of course the sounds they make when they break. Yes it would be great for more cameras, especially along the coast, when I researched yesterday, I was able to see where this camera is erected as you say South. and I found where the airport was situated. Yes I live approx. 15 miles East of London and as I type it is very dark here. They do say that England is the CCTV capital of the World, they are probably right, but not sure how many are able to be seen live like these.
Hello Mick, you're right here we use badly, we talk like it's late, when it's really early morning, we usually say early in the morning starting at 4, but I wrote I think at 3, and maybe I'll send it later.I'm glad you had a good night and a sweet awakening.Pity that when you look at this camera is always dark. I would like to have more cameras here in Chile. You live in London, right? there are no cameras there I've only seen two.
Hi Patti, It's (09:11) your time (13:11) my time I had a lovely sleep and sweet awakening thanks. I wouldn't say you came late, rather early as you most of composed your last composition at about 4am? As I type I can't see the glorious view but can hear the lovely sounds, as if I'm sitting/laying on a lounger on the beach, lulling me off to sleep, it's peaceful.
Hello Mick, I hope you have a sweet awakening. here I came rather late, before bed, I read a while. The Hotel Apacheta, is located in the south sector of the city, if the city is small and the airport is 15 klm. With regards to the ship, I could tell you that they are factory ships. They remain there for some days. They also visit cruise ships but they arrive at the port. The hotel looks quite interesting, I like it, and as you say has the rooms with sea view, I think it is very nice, but I want to go visit it to the restaurant and take some pictures when I go to Arica and there I will know more. i will tell
Hello again Patti, I've just had a look at the Hotel Apacheta, It looks lovely and every room overlooks the sea. Beds look really comfy. People staying there mention the sound of the waves and birds. Do you know how the hotel is from the airport? The pictures shown by the hotel show some people sitting in chairs on the beach.
Hello Patti, It would be lovely to hear your thoughts when you return. Do you know what the boat/ship is? it has been there for a few days now.
Hi, Mick, I'm glad you came by and heard the waves of the Pacific.Mick, I was in Arica two months ago, and I went there, but outside, and it's a hotel, the hotel is host to the APACHETA hotel, and since it's a private place, I do not know if in summer they occupy that beach, which is actually not very quiet, but I intend to go back to that city and go there, and know more about that place.I'll tell you when I go.
