well I was watching last night - and posed the same question, doing a little research, I think it is the village fiesta, which happened according to the photographs taken about this time last year.

Capture Sam.... I was wondering myself. However, I've since found this info "The Planning Commission has granted planning permission for restoration works on the main façade of the protected Grade 1 Naxxar Parish Church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Works will include the removal of deposits and updating of the lighting system. In parts of the façade, where the stone has deteriorated, new slabs will be used to replace those that are damaged, the PA said. The works will be carried out in accordance with an approved restoration method statement and monitored by the Planning Authority’s conservation officials."

17/18nov18--Raining tonight and water droplets play with the optics making bizarre patterns. Scaffolding blankets the façade of Naxxar Church. I'd like to hear from somebody in the know what is being done and maybe a completion date. Thanks in advance. __EnJoy EnJoy

On the 8th September Malta celebrates the Vitorja (Victory Day) to commemorate the end of the Great Siege of Malta by the Ottoman Empire in 1565 and the withdrawal of Italy from the World War II which ended the hostilities on Malta. The 8th September is also the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, the patron saint of the towns of Naxxar, Mellieha, Senglea and Xaghra - Gozo.
Tonight's concert was brought to us by the Peace Band Club, hosts of this webcam.
Tomorrow is the main feast day. You can watch the Solemn Mass at 9.30 am on the Church Webcam and on this webcam the procession with the Statue of the Bambina (Infant Mary) which starts at 7.00pm.
All church services are animated by an orchestra and the Jubilate Deo Choir.

The text can be translated (badly) but it is hard to understand. Basically a musical event tonight and Feat Day of the Nativity begins tomorrow morning.
