Always loved spending the day at El Medano beach, climbed Mount Roja a few times which gave amazing views from the top. The beach on the other side is a nature reserve, ours kids loved it, They called it the 'dirty beach' because of the volcanic black sand. peaceful and quiet with one the best beaches on Tenerife IMO .Lot of new developments in and around it now so maybe not so peaceful in future.
Must be the only Teneriffe beach that has people on it.
et la France
It is very sad to see this empty beach without all the kites and windsurfers...
Love the back of the sign saying 'UP'.. Sign made in the UK, being in English, not Spanish?. lol...
Hooray the cam is back and it is a lovely day for kitesurfing.
Lots of people on the beach today, but not enough wind or waves for the surfers.
Love the kites
sort the camera out please
Why are so many cameras pixelated now? Makes the view distracting and less enjoyable.
View back to as was...seems much clearer and what I call 'Mini Red Mountain' back in view.....Enjoyed the short view of my old Hotel though..
Good morning! Could you turn the camera to the side of the Montaña Roja, please.
Ahh, new camera position, shows the Hotel I stayed in a few yrs ago, and walked from, past here to climb Red Mountain during the 1st Jazz festival held here! However the morning sun is shining straight in to the lens, (08.30 local), and might cause the camera sensor to become damaged.More so in Winter when the sun will be lower for longer, just my thoughts..
I live more than a two day drive from the Ocean, and have never kite/wind surfed. How do you all keep those kites from hitting each other and tangling? I would enjoy just sitting back and watching it all from the shore. Looks like a lot of fun.
22feb19--Thank You to our host, Bahia Water Sports Center - El Medano - Tenerife, for sponsoring this 'live cam' View on the beach of El Médano, Tenerife, one of the best places for surfers in the world.
