18th July - lots of people on the beach due to the heatwave.

Have you ever climbed Montagne Roja Lyn, we did it a few years back. From the top the views are stunning. Well worth the climb.

I am not a beach person but I do like to walk across behind the Montagne Roja from La Tajita beach and end up at the beach bar near this cam for refreshments while watching the kite and wind surfers.

No problem Mel. As much as I like it here I personally prefer the beaches in Playa which are organised with all the amenities available and bars of course for the odd beer or 5.

This particular beach in El Medano isn't really one that tourists use. Mostly kite surfers etc. This beach is 100 % natural and therefore may not have the manicured look of the more visited tourist beaches. That said though sometimes it's good to visit unspoilt areas of coastline which are left to develop as nature intended.

John holt.... some of the beaches look ok, but this one I would give a miss and that is what I was referring to,maybe it is well kept but looking on here doesn’t look inviting to me,but as you say that is my opinion.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion Mel, but i suggest that you either clean your glasses or visit before casting final verdict, it really is so well kept . Just a word of warning though - be careful not to drop litter if Policia are about. Enjoy.

Tenerife is one of the cleanest places I've been to. Always looks fantastic wherever you are on the Island.

Interesting about it looking dirty. I have found it's one of the cleanest places I've been to. They have amazing people who keep everything spic and span :)

Always loved spending the day at El Medano beach, climbed Mount Roja a few times which gave amazing views from the top. The beach on the other side is a nature reserve, ours kids loved it, They called it the 'dirty beach' because of the volcanic black sand. peaceful and quiet with one the best beaches on Tenerife IMO .Lot of new developments in and around it now so maybe not so peaceful in future.

Must be the only Teneriffe beach that has people on it.
