Ventura should be leaving today (Wednesday 11th) Apparently working again, did a successful trial during the night managed 13 knots and returned to port safely. Safe journey home to all on board.

Hi Carol, after I posted I found an article about them sending out the mayday call when they were drifting off the north east of Tenerife. One of the things it did make me think about was for people like Brian, who has medication, to take extra supplies - it doesn't matter if it's a cruise of not, even a severe flight delay could cause problems... so a lesson learned!! I've also been reading about the terrible events in New Zealand, absolutely awful.

Morning Margaret. Not sure how far she had got before the problems started. There is a track showing on marine traffic but no distance travelled. The cruise that was due to leave on Friday to Amsterdam has been cancelled. Far better being stranded in Teneriffe than the ones on Ovation of the seas moored off White Island in New Zealand where the volcano has erupted killing several of the passengers who opted for a sightseeing trip to the volcano.

Hi Carol, I meant to ask you how far had she got when she originally left Tenerife before she had a problem? As you say, as long as you don't have to get home for anything in particular, enjoy the few extra days!! She was going to do a short cruise to the Netherlands, so this has probably been cancelled as well.

AidaCara in today and Ventura will be here for a few more days. Several hundred passengers are being flown home today but the majority are staying on board and they are getting a 50% refund of the cruise cost. Good weather and a longer stay in Teneriffe, could be worse.

"Tent Man" - Try to find him, it's like a "Where's Wally" thing, he's is not always there, but once you spot him, you'll look out for him all the time. At present, he's quite well hidden. And here's a clue - after Christmas he'll be a lot easier to spot.

The Aida ship is Aidamira formerly Costa Neoriviera and is on a one way voyage to Cape Town from Majorca. Ends on 23rd December then continues round South Africa to various places. Couldn't be bothered to read and write them all on here, but at least I now know what ship it is. Ventura is supposedly leaving about 21.00 could have been worse if she had been crossing the Atlantic and lost power!!!!!

Hi Carol, I never really bothered to look this morning as I thought there was only Zenith in. I was totally confused when I looked later and saw the other two as well. I see you've solved the mystery of Ventura, but the AIDA ship,..... who knows, plus they all look almost the same from the front so it's really difficult to tell.

Ventura apparently lost all power and had to be towed back here. Missing out on Lanzarote and going to try for Lisbon then hopefully Southampton on Friday.

Re. Ventura. She was supposed to be in Lanzarote today, but looking at her past track on marine traffic she turned and came back. Wonder why?
