Brugge is ontwaakt uit zijn Corona-slaap. De toeristen komen terug maar het is nog niet te druk. Binnenkort kan je weer "op de koppen lopen"

Been to Bruges a few times, and have to say, as a keen cyclist, it's great in that respect too. Last time cycled via the lovely village of Damme across the border into the Netherlands alongside the canal. Wonderful. Not that there isn't plenty to do and see in Bruges of course! It's just so geared up for cycling.

Leonardo, I had to use Translate to read your message. I can understand a little bit but not all. I am so glad your trip was wonderful. I went to Europe for the first time in September for 4 weeks and yes, I want to go back also. Plan on 2021 to Bavaria and Switzerland.

Hi Deborah and Paul, many thanks for your comments, we will definitely have this place on out list when the virus has upped and gone. We love France, and usually spend at least a month there each Summer, but not to be this year. We were booked to go in a couple of weeks for 5 weeks, staying near Royan (half way between La Rochelle and Bordeaux), but maybe get over there later this year. We also had a holiday cancelled in Lake Como last month, but better safe than sorry. Keep safe, all of you, and do keep in touch.

Hi derek, I’ve been to Bruges 4 times and it’s a great place to visit especially for the Xmas market. However it is also very expensive!

Derek05= I loved it. I was there 5 days but I took a day trip to Antwerp and a day trip to Brussels. I also stayed in Ghent for 2 days and another day/2 nights in Brussels on my way back from Normandy, France. Belgium is an incredible country and so friendly. My first trip to Europe-took 4 weeks-and I was so glad I went to Belgium first. Downside is the number of tourists-even though I was one. I just walked everywhere and got lost a lot but that is part of the charm. At 68, I never felt scared of walking around by myself. Ghent is cheaper and has less tourists but more locals are out-university town-and a more vibrant atmosphere. Bruges is rather laid back and quieter.

Looks like more people are venturing out. After visiting this incredible city in September, I bought the movie In Bruges. Can't wait to watch it.
