Kappara: the second bridgeThe remaining eight steel girders that will support the bridge deck and that will be placed throughout the whole extent of the flyover, will be transported from Marsa to Kappara at night tomorrow Saturday and on Monday 15th, Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th of May.The trailers will leave Dock 7 in Marsa at 19:30hrs and will proceed from Triq il-Labour, Triq Aldo Moro, Marsa-Ħamrun bypass, Santa Venera tunnels, Triq Reġjonali and Triq Mikiel Anton Vassalli. The trailer will be driving on the right hand side carriageway since it is easier to manoeuvre. These roads will be closed in segments to allow drivers to drive through alternative routes
What has happened to the sound?
Pity about the lighting a bit too bright at the far end last night other than that worth watching, only thing stopping me watching the next phase is a lack of sleep lol
Kappara flyover taking shapeThe steel structure of the Kappara flyover is being installed today as works on one of Malta's busiest junctions continue in full swing. The flyover will eventually link the upper part of Regional Road coming from St Julian's towards Msida. Works on the €26 million Kappara junction have almost reached the halfway stage, and the project is set to be completed within the set timeframe by the end of this year.Transport Minister Joe Mizzi recently that apart from alleviating the traffic bottleneck in the area, the project would provide better accessibility to pedestrians crossing from Kappara to Gżira by means of an underpass.
