@Eileen - I skied there last year and yes the cars slow down as it enters the building. It comes to almost a complete stop and the doors open automatically for people to get off on one half of the entrance, goes past a gate with the doors still open for skiers to get on. The whole thing runs pretty smoothly. :)

It was early morning when I saw the ski lift running fast. I have put a photo on showing snow on the car going down/in and clear on the car going up/out. Malcolm they were definitely going too fast at that time for anyone to get on or off. I think maybe my husband was right, making sure all the cars are cleared of snow and ice before taking on passengers.

Goodness me, your right Eileen, the cable cars do seem to be running fast. Made me chuckle...... maybe the webcam has gone into fast forward...... think I would be a bit sick.
    Loving the skyline webcam though.

Hi Eileen, they look fast but if you look closely you will see that when they get into the building, they slow down and get close to each other and you get on while they move slowly. If you look on google street view you can find pictures inside this place.

I was watching the ski lifts this morning and they seemed to be going too fast. My husband seems to think that they were empty and being run like that to clear any ice and frost from the cables before taking any passengers. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Hi Rachel!! I don't usually look in the summer, but here I am, and glad to 'meet' you. I don't even know those people who I was bantering with over the last couple of years, it just seemed to grow, for a bit of a laugh. Not having heard from the tightrope walking people I was bantering with, I've had to call it off. I'm now focussing my time on building an underwater ski resort just off the coast of Skegness. Been having trouble submerging the snow in the buckets I got from Asda, though, it keeps melting, so I'm looking elsewhere. Mary Berry told me that Aldi do a bigger bucket, with lids, and I've already got Barry Chuckle lined up to cut the ribbon on our opening day. Watch this space!

Hi Lynda Eisier from last season.. It's Ernie here, I'm BACK! So sorry you're missing me. Are YOU there Ken?? We did have some fun banter a couple of seasons ago. And hello also to MARTYN FORSTER!! We also had alot of fun bantering about using these lifts at speed. If you refer lower down this thread to 2 years ago, you'll see what I mean!! Meanwhile, Heading out to Colfosco and this very lift in around 10 days time. The weather looks great, I'm really looking forward to it. And Ken, if you're reading this, I've had a replacement leg fitted and ready again for our challenge to tightrope walk between the peaks of the Eiger and the Matterhorn. Are you in?? Dalai Lama is also back on track for it, he's retired from the ballroom dancing and needs a new challenge. He's bought some warm socks and a kipper smoker! Bring it on!!

Must be fun entering/exiting gondolas at that speed. I wonder if there is a moving platform. Anyone have video inside?
