Our Etna webcam shows the summit craters of the volcano Etna on the island of Sicily, at the arrival point of the cable car. Etna is the highest and most active volcano in Europe. It rises above the city of Catania, in Sicily. The volcano has shown a variety of eruptions, including explosions and extensive lava flows (the so-called lava fountains). The eruptive history of the volcano can be traced back 500,000 years. Thanks to our Etna live cam, you can enjoy views of Etna's four summit craters: the Voragine and Bocca Nuova, formed in the main crater; the Northeast Crater, Etna's highest peak at 3,330 meters above sea level; and the Southeast Crater. During an eruption, however, the volcano spews lava not through the summit craters, but along the flanks of the mountain's cone.
