Just seen something bright and glowing flash across the camera, did anyone else see it?
Shauna: It is a bed & breakfast/hotel.
Hello, Is that a town or a flow to the upper left? Thanks
1:38 in the morning and lots of traffic. Are the people evacuating? Seems like too much traffic so early.Anyone know if the geological scientists have put out a warning?
I can just imagine watching Etna from a room or the garden of the the host's B & B, Just had a look round, it's beautiful.
Lyn W - yes you could be right when you say that- the whole scene last night was extremely busy , wonder if it was evacuations - I didnt want to go to bed incase I missed something very important !
Barbara Lister the hustle and bustle and lights is probably all down to tourists rushing to the best spots to get a selfie with Etna in action.
Etna has been quiet for about 3 quarters of an hour (calm before the storm???)Cars still moving around the village, couple of car horns blowing, moving at speed; people with raised voices heard in the background
2300hrs French timeLots of vehicles and lights, many voices in the background. Keep safe little village- people talking very loud but the noise and movement of the vehicles seems to be getting busier- Hope all is well tonight for everyone
I know there are cameras up there at some of the restaurants/ shopping/ rest stops but they're just not skyline. Also I've only been able to find them once or twice
Mapchap: I know! Wouldn't that be, awesome! You can't see any details in this view. I wish they would put a camera up, on the next ridge, in the front.
I wonder why one of the places up there on this side of the mountain haven't opted for a Skyline cam...
I guess they are ferrying people away? Those B&Bs are quite spread out but look all in one place from the camera angle? Considering a lava flow got very close to the main B&B ares two night ago, there is probably no risks worth taking. There are a lot og of dwellings between this cam, then outside of Mascalucia and there are quite a lot of-I don't know the correct word-side emissions from Etna in that area. While Etna is very "passive" in volcanic terms, there is a very real possibility of gasses and unpredictable vents opening up around the area below. Particularly when it needs to blow it's nose! :)
I wonder what is with all the flashing lights, in the area of the B & B?
WOW!!!!!! Biggest eruption blast I've seen, so far!
The eruptions tonight are pretty spectacular. I hope everyone is safe.
