Syntagma Square (or Constitution Square) is the heart of the Greek capital. Not only is it the city's geographical center, but also the hub of the local social, political and cultural scene. The square is the main meeting spot for leisure activities, concerts and events (which can all be followed via our Syntagma Square live cam). The square houses the Monument of the Unknown Soldier. Located in front of the Parliament, it’s dedicated to patriotic Greek soldiers and guarded—around the clock—by the Evzones, the Greek Presidential Guard. Thanks to this webcam on the Hellenic Parliament, visitors can witness the changing of the guard in real-time!

The Greek Parliament is based in the famous building in Syntagma Square. The building was constructed when the capital was transfered from Nafplion to Athens during the Modern Greek State, in order to be used as a residence for the King Otto. The imposing building of the Greek Parliament has a long history which is directly connected with the history of the Modern Greek state.
