The oooh sooo slow web cam gave us the opportunity to watch the fireworks at the turn of the year. Happy New Year to all
Very sad watching the situation deteriorating in this wonderful city, I hope the problems can be resolved peacefully.
I dearly love the amazing views this camera provides! THANK YOU for it, Skyline! If I could change one thing, it would be to speed up the oh-so-slooooow pan. Thanks in advance for any consideration you might extend to my request.

Sam, seriously? You did not understand what I meant when I said "Hong Kong is not China?" Philosophically, Sam, Capture Sam, philosophically.
12oct19--No, lynn james, the name is Capture Sam. Thanks. > 1 month ago: lynn james: " Hong Kong is not China. "That comment is totally incorrect. EnJoy EnJoy
Sam, I know the history. I also know how the people of Hong Kong feel.
2oct19--No, lynn james, the name is Capture Sam. Thanks. --- After the being occupied by an invading country China ceded the island to the British Empire in 1842 at the end of the First Opium War. In 1898 Britain obtained a 99-year lease of the New Territories. Everything changed on the island under the parliamentary and constitutional monarchy government of the British Empire. The land was always China. Even during 1941 - 1945 when under Japanese rule the land was China. The rent contract between China and the British Empire ( UK ) ran out in 1997. Over 22 years ago. Violent destructive protests are never allowed under any form of gobberment. EnJoy EnJoy
So, Sam is it? I was in Tiananmen Square maybe a year before the turnover. There was a tremendous digital clock there counting down to the time Hong Kong would be returned to China, in seconds.. I had also been to Hong Kong (many times) and felt a stab in my heart when I saw the clock, because I knew that the beautiful, vibrant, prosperous , happy life in Hong Kong was going to change. Everything changes when you are under a communist government like China. I visited Hong last in 2017 and knew that would probably be the last time. I empathize with the souls in the streets protesting .
11sep19-- lynn james: Hong Kong is not China. Really? ----- Hong Kong is not UK . smh Today being the 18th aniversity of 9 - 11 : lessons learned from the destruction of the two towers are incorporated in many of the skyscrappers seen in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has more skyscrappers than ANY other city.
Hong Kong is not China.
