Novelty has wore off now - it's definitely drones!
Now I see a bright green light going the other way... trust me I'm very sober and definitely not taking anything! LOL
I think I'm going mad... just seen a bright red light shoot across the screen at speed! One will assume it was a drone and not anything of the close encounter kind!
Enjoyed watching the boats being put away!
Hi, Neil. I read good things about Durham and hope to get there some time. Glad you had a good weekend get-away!
Sounds like you've really enjoyed your trip to Durham Neil, it is a lovely city and has a very mixed population especially as there are lots of students of different nationalities.
Hi Ladies, I only visited Durham for the weekend a couple of week ago. Visited both the castle and cathedral along with a boat trip up the river and a visit to Beamish. Lovely little City and had a great time.
Hi Gwynn, I have been up the staircase in Durham cathedral twice but can't say I enjoyed the experience as it's spiral and pretty dark - it was quite a few years ago mind. Also near the cathedral is Durham Castle so you can visit both while you're there. Our news footage of the flooding shows exactly how dreadful it is for the people.
I would love to see Durham Cathedral, too, and castles make it even better! I've been reading a bit about Dover Castle - such history! Yes, it's pretty bad in/near Houston. And the flooding is continuing. People around the state are just loading up their boats and going down for rescue work, boating down the streets - people stuck on their roofs, the tops of their cars, and so many of them.
The castle ruins is Barnard Castle, Raby is complete. There isn't a shortage of castles in Britain Gwynn and that's for sure.
Hi Gwynn, the news said Louisiana is going to be hit with the floods, Houston was shown again on the footage tonight, they said about the enormous amount of water.Raby castle in Co. Durham.
Audrey, it's a pretty horrible mess down on the coast and is going to get worse. Which castle are you talking about? Making a list, you know. Thanks, kipper - I thought that must be it. I just HAVE to make it to Dover (and Deal) (and the rest of Kent) sometime!
Hi Gwynn, pleased you're okay, it must be horrendous for the people who are affected. We've seen some footage of the flooding on our news tonight.Hi kipper, the castle up here in the northeast was also built by the Normans, it's a ruin now but not far away is a superb castle.
Looks a typical Dover evening, after completing my 12 hour shifts working at the Eastern Docks in the background I would walk along the seafront and have a dip in the beautiful sea! Looking forward to moving back sometime Dover beach has a special place in my heart!
