I agree with you there Gwynn H, very interesting. Mark, the boat you mentioned Galatea is anchored in the Thames estuary.
Very interesting read! I will try to check in regularly and see if I can spot it.
Check this out - concerning the 'Dutch' galleon.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-kent-40962097
Thank you Mark, will keep a look out.
You might from time to time this week see quite a large type of boat cruising up and down the coast - It's called Galatea and is mainly used as a mobile lighthouse, buoy handling, ship towing, but most interestingly wreck marking. It looks great in the evening with all it's lights on ! We have had 3 Dutch men staying at our hotel and informed us they were connected to this boat that we've seen. Their interest is a galleon from approx. 1740. They are suggesting that this sunken galleon has treasure on board incl. silver !! Hope you get a glimpse of this very interesting boat
Nearly 21:00 and everything is a lovely shade of blue onscreen. Hope it is that lovely in person.
look another car parked in front of pier - how is that even possible?
Must be wet with all the people sheltering in front of pier, perhaps driver of car can give them all a lift
Hey lovely people, why is there a car parked in front of pier at 14:40 2 August
Hi Lesley, Sadly it's a live feed from a camera set on the roof top of our hotel, so you will not be able to replay the carnival period. Regards Mark
How do you get to see Deal Carnival?
Many thanks, Mark for opening a window on the carnival to those of us ex Dealites living half a world away... John
I wonder if any of those people down there know they are being seen all over the world. Hope they enjoy the evening.
What a gloriously sunny day for a Carnival.
