Yes ty, not a clue how I got pepper, the hunt was too long already, so I asked JCC
Capt. Sam - pepper in Spanish is either pimiento for the vegetable or pimienta for the spice. Wiki states that Pepe is a diminutive of the male name Jose. So Uncle Joe as you mentioned. Still I do like a glass of chilled Tio Pepe sherry! Glad they've re-positioned the camera. Much better view. Shame Stromboli has gone off.
27nov17-- Notes to the correct place often result in prompt action. ;-) , I up'd two captures from about the top of the hour , one before and one just after, omg beautiful. Thanks again to our host " Hostal Riesco" Puerta Del Sol, Madrid for sponsoring this 'live cam'.
Somebody is trying very hard to get the camera back into position. Thanks to you whoever you are.
Some kind person moving the camera to give all the correct view again. Many thanks.
26nov17--The Tio Pepe building and sign have become a landmark in Puerta del Sol. The 'photos' here show the Sign and building. @ JCC Tio Pepe as far as I can discover means Uncle Pepper, Zio = uncle and Pepe = pepper , Joe it seems was uncle pepe's first name. At least that is what several searches indicate. Why Tio instead of Zio? local language differences most likely, eh? I don't know for sure though. @drxdrxdrxdrx might I suggest directing your comments to the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of this page. The 'Contact Us' will get the attention you are looking for either that day or their next business day at SkylineWebcams. Or you can contact our host of this 'live cam' though their web site in the 'Hosted By' link near the top of the page. ( I suggest the host contact ) , Odds are good no one either at SL or Hostal Riesco Puerta Del Sol Madrid reads these 'comments'. _____Thank You to our host " Hostal Riesco" Puerta Del Sol, Madrid for sponsoring this 'live cam'.
@skyline webcam administrators: This webcam needs realigning to be parallel with the street view. The top of the building with the Tio Pepe sign is cut off. Please re-focus this webcam to the way it was set up before the restoration work on the Post Office building started a few months ago.
what are they all queueing for?
@skyline webcam administrators: Greetings from London. Thank you for pointing this webcam fractionally to the left of the Tio Pepe building. It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the square.
Gracias to the persons for removing the covering from this camera and allowing us once again to enjoy the view of this wonderful place.
I finally see! 2014/11/14 16:25

Thanks, Gert! Had to switch to the other camera to listen to the concert. :)
