A lot af people what's is going on
The clock RUNGS the right time, but shows a different time. It might be the mechanic of the hands.
The first day of the festive week commemorating St George is this Monday 24th. It takes place in the evening when the statue of St George will be taken out of its niche and taken out on the parvis for a short while and then back inside on the right side of the main aisle where it will stay until Sunday when it will be taken in procession around the main streets of Qormi which are artistically decorated. The whole week's progamme is full of religious activities in church and band marches and fireworks outside. A week not to be missed. A happy feast to all the Qriema .
Looks like the decorations are going up for the feast of St. George in a couple of weeks !
Carol, I noticed the clock keeps getting fixed but then it immediately starts losing time again. So I think it needs some maintenance...or a new battery !
Will someone please fix that clock?
19.05.19. Lovely wedding at midday!
It would be great if there was also a camera inside this church. I'm sure it must be beautiful.
Happy St George's Day to all the Qriema ta' veru in Malta and abroad. Today the whole world celebrates San Ġorġ
So lovely seeing the Good Friday procession. Would anyone know where the procession ends? Does it return to the church? I'm very curious. Happy Easter to all !
Happy Easter to all on line especially to my compatriots who hail from Qormi and are now living in Australia, Canada, the United States and United Kingdom and are watching the Good Friday procession. This procession is definitely the best and most colourful of all in Malta and Gozo. Hundreds of parishioners, including the two local marching bands, are proud to take part in it. A great number of strong young men carrying the statues representing various aspects of the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ around the streets of Qormi. God bless you all.
Good Friday 19.04.19
Merhba lill-Qriema kollha li qed isegwu l-Purcissjoni tal-Gimgha l-Kbira.
Easter Week, 14th to 20th April 2019Easter is a big celebration in Malta. Churches are lavishly decorated and glow in the evenings. You shouldn’t miss the magnificent Easter church parades on Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Two famous parades take place on Good Friday in Qormi and on Good Friday and Easter Sunday in Vittoriosa. Many Maltese participate and re-enact Biblical scenes in costumes. On Easter Sunday in particular, a happy and exuberant atmosphere covers the island.
