Thank you Self Service Al Ponte di Rialto Bridge for hosting this great view! It's a bit of cheek to set up a coffee maker in the tourist center of Venice. You don't want to buy anything, including beverage's, most human's can go at least 3 hours without. (babies excluded ofc). I have only been to Rome and it was in late October. I loved it and not crowded at all. After watching these cams, Venice looks very romantic, foggy sometimes and also way less crowded, in the fall/winter.

OK rules are rules, and it's true they weren't just sipping a takeaway latte, and their coffee-making paraphernalia was strewn along a step. But...950 euros? Can't help that's a disproportionate response to their 'crime'. It's not like they were drunken louts or anything.

They were actually brewing some coffee on a portable stove. As you say with the eye watering prices I can see why they did it, but the size of the fine will send a clear message that it won’t be tolerated!

You mean they were just drinking coffee!? Did they decide not to pay extortionate price at a cafe and had a take away....?

Venice: Two German tourists were expelled for coffee at the Rialto Bridge
The offenders were fined 950 euros and then invited to leave the city, under the new ordinances of the municipal government.

I think there may be one 'gondoliera' James - not exactly gender equality!

Interesting that it goes from father to son to row the gondola. So the daughter's are not good enough! Bit of sexist stuff here.

Muitos turistas acenando ao vivo para a câmera. Pena não poder interagir.

Interesting Mel ! Before I read the comments I was closely watching them and it's got to be extremely hard with the larger boats going by.
