Hope all of our friends in Florence are safe from this virus. We had another wonderful time there and will be back next year. Still searching for all of the hidden 66 museums within the city. Food there again was fantastic and so was the outstanding performances from the THREE Tenors/Ballet performance as well as the performers in the Opera Laboeme, Found the bookstore near the Duomo - outstanding number of english books in all most every category. We always leave room for 10 lbs of literary genius to take back home as well as items hand made in Florence. Again we wish all of you well.

Are those tourists walking around in the plaza who aren't affected by the quarantine in Italy at the moment?

Why is there no Christmas tree in the Piazza. Not even any Christmas lights.

16sep19--ROBERT Bozzanca, I totally agree with "Neptune looks great". Bartolomeo Ammannati's Fountain of Neptune in Florence's piazza della Signoria has been restored following two years of intense work. In daylight hours the sprays block the sight of Neptune a bit. During late night the water flow is turned off thus giving a little better view, IMO. Piazza della Signoria / Palazzo Vecchio is a must see, put this location on your 'bucket list' even if you have been here before. Michelangelo’s David is in the Galleria Academia but a replica is located here >> David's head and right shoulder can been seen in this view << just left of the roof line at about 3:30 o'clock. David's gaze is directly towards a bronze sculpture of 'Perseus with the Head of Medusa' made by Benvenuto Cellini in the period 1545–1554 thus giving an effect David was thus turned to stone. Florence is beauty and beautiful. EnJoy EnJoy

5sep18--Recognized as the city’s first public water source, the 440-year-old Fountain of Neptune, located on the central Piazza della Signoria, in front of the town hall in Palazzo Vecchio, was originally commissioned by Cosimo I de’ Medici in 1565. Its mythical subject matter and monumental 18-foot proportions made it a powerful symbol of Florence’s nautical mite throughout the centuries. EnJoy EnJoy
