Hi Derek; you are obviously a canny Geordie who loves Malta!? I Having lived in Gosforth for some 30 odd years, I know exactly what you mean by a rain-drenched north-east in the middle of summer. But then having retired back to Malta for some 11 years, I decided to come back to the UK for good 2 years ago - simply could not take the undisciplined culture! Being on holiday is one thing, but having to cope and face the hassle day in day out is simply unbearable. Enjoy your next visit to the rock!

Have a good time John - sure you will. My daughter stopped at the Paradise last year. Really liked the hotel & convenience for the buses - struggled a bit with the wasps around the pool. Enjoy!!

Jon.where would I start firstly there are over 70 castles in Northumberland alone then there is the coastal strip from Tynemouth to Berwick. then the rivers with there towns and villages then the inland places up into the Coquet valley ,like Rothbury ,Alwinton and up on the ranges too many to chose from.
