Ciao. onda Wish you well.
I wish they would turn the camera back towards the square.
Looks like everything is back to normal (for now). About 5 1/2 weeks until the August 16th race.
Forza la giraffa!
Looks like they are cleaning up all of the dirt that was dumped for the race.Catherine, Go to YouTube and enter in 'Palio de Siena' July 2, 2017. You should find it there.
Just tried to watch the time lapse but could only see peoples bottoms, backs and some iron work, otherwise nothing much.
Well I didnt win on that one. Im off for dinner now, with a few glasses of red. Goodnight all.
Well that was a bit 'anticlimatic'. Giraffa led from the start. Interesting, but it would have been more exciting if there wasn't the long wait. Saluta tutti che sono fuori a fare altre cose!
So exciting! Wish I understood Italian so I knew more details. Happy Giraffa! But what happened to torre - was he trampled?
21:00 now - has tartuca been disqualified? Will the Palio be run? I THink they just said a few more minutes.
Oscar, Are you in Italy? I have been watching the broadcast since (9:00 am my time, 6:00 pm local time), I just wish I understood Italian. I can make out a few words but as a whole, not so much. Now they are all off their horses. Sure wish I knew what was going on?
Sorry about that Gert. I saw it just as I hit the send key. Yes you're right about the the awkward horse. Luckily I didn't bet on him.
Oscar did you NOT see my post? I already left the link. But one horse (Tartuca (Tortoise)) has been holding up the race, at the time of this post they are already 35 minutes late. They should disqualify the horse and get on with it, it's not fair to the other horses.
And we see this gentleman's arm... ahh!!
