A visit to Teggiano is number one on my bucket list. Such a beautiful village. It is the birthplace of my great-great grandparents, Cono Antonio Moreno and Raffaela Manzolillo Moreno. Wish there was sound and more cameras with more views!
Hi everybody. I think it would be a good initative if people like you and me upload pictures/ screen shots of events and special occasions which get streamed on this camera. By doing so, people who had not the privilege of seeing the real event, can at least watch the pictures found on the 'Photos' section.
Finally discovered what is going on in town, a 3-day, late-fifteenth century reenactment on August 11, 12 and 13, "Alla Tavola Della Principessa" or "At the Table of Princess Costanza." (Forgive me if I get something wrong, as I'm working from a Google translation.) During the three days, several events take place, including a procession led by Antonello Sanseverino and Constance (Costanza), who arrive at the city council where they receive the green light for their wedding. The evening ends with an assault on Castle Macchiaroli by King Frederick of 'Aragon. (See the Wikipedia website for "Teggiano" for more historic details, especially regarding the Sanseverino family.) About 40,000 people attend and visit re-enactors of ancient trades, such as the blacksmith, goldsmith, glazier, rope maker and many others. If you want to learn more, the website http://www.castellomacchiaroli.it/alla-tavola-della-principessa-costanza/ has all the details and excellent photos of the reenactment. My Italian is not very good, so I used Google's free web page translation to translate into English. This wonderful little town never ceases to amaze me!
Enjoying the music on a lovely Wednesday summer evening! Colored lights on the building in the center right past the monument, couples walking hand in hand, children playing. The bells just struck midnight and they're still enjoying the balmy evening, 22/70 degrees. Sigh. Wish I was there!
That sounds wonderful LSB u are very lucky to have visited this beautiful town
Visiting Italy, my husband and I stopped in Teggiano because of this webcam. What an amazing hill town! It's now one of our favorite places in Italy. The town is so beautiful with 360 degree views of the surrounding valleys and hills. Walking the town was like walking a movie set with ancient buildings, churches, a castle. The people were so nice. They knew we were tourist and took the time to stop and say Buona Sera to us or wanted to know where we were from. We stayed in a hotel right at the beginning of the town with parking - Hotel Antichi Feudi Dimora d'Epoca. You have to stay here in a room with a balcony - a memorizing view.....really! Then ate at a family restaurant - Nationale on the main square. The son is the cook and made one of the best pasta dishes we've had in Italy. Thank you Skyline and Banca Monte Puno for this webcam. Would have never discovered this gem in southern Italy. Already thinking how to return.
The beautiful little town is waking up ..so love to see the people going about their daily life
