Clive go to the Bali Hotel and you will get the best rate......trust me. I have done this for years ( 60 trips to Spain and ready to retire). Bali's rate is better than the banks.

I've got a Starling Current Account which works in conjunction with your Smartphone, you can keep all your cash in there in sterling, its free to withdraw at any most cash machines at the Mastercard rate and you get an instant alert on your phone when your withdraw/spend, used it for nearly 2 years now in lots of countries and never one problem.

We always take cash and exchange in the indoor market. You get a much better rate than the U.K. and if you change a £1000 or more you get an extra half cent on the days rate. You will need to take a passport with you the first time you go they then issue you a card which you can use in future visits. Whatever you do don’t use the little booths around the streets as you can come unstuck at some of them with the small print and you get less than you were expecting. The indoor market all speak English and are very reliable. You won’t get stitched up. Hope that helps.

Clive best bet is to exchange a small amount at the airport. and exchange the majority at a bank in Spain such as Banco Santander as you need it. Keep in mind banks close for the most part at 2:00 PM in Spain.
