Thanks P.L. for all the info. I figured it was a parking garage, But I thought maybe it was a tunnel through the mountain.

Gert; It does appear to be a parking garage as I have seen cars coming and going. The building it self has ski lifts working from it and it is also home to the Union Skiclub Altenmarkt - Zauchensee for alpine and Nordic sking. There may be a ski shop and a restaurant in the building as well.

Thanks P.L., I was hoping to 'google map' around so I could figure out what that is on the far left that looks like a tunnel/parking garage? The locate button on the top right isn't really any help either. So I figured that if I enter in the name & maybe the address of one of the buildings I would have better chance?

    Hi Gert
I did answer your question about the buildings but for some reason it has been taken down. Maybe because I put to much detail in it. The yellow and brown building is an apartment house called Liftgasthof the brown building to the right of that is Hotel Alpenrose and to the right of that is the Hotel Salzburgerhof. I hope this gets to stay on so you can see it.

Yes it was Gwynn H. St Gilgen is about 50 miles north of here by car. Over the years I have visited Austria 15 times and have always found the scenery fantastic wherever we had stayed.
